Editor Cindy Zetts dishes on real-estate and development around Puget Sound: She lived in apartments, townhomes and houses -- a dozen of them in four states -- before settling in the Seattle area in 1997. After taking a bath on the sale of her first home, in South Florida, she vowed to wise up about real estate. She bought a house in Covington 10 years ago because, well, she could afford one there.

Affordable-housing advocacy group gets new director

The Washington Low Income Housing Alliance has named a new director.
Rachael Myers takes over the day-to-day operations of the agency June 9. Myers is leaving a homeless-advocacy position (director of organizing and advocacy at Real Change newspaper) to run an agency whose mission is to combat homelessness.
"I believe that we can end homelessness and ensure that every family has the home they need to thrive, but only if we all work together to change the priorities of our government," Myers said in a media release.
