New Microsoft exec heading education efforts
Posted by Benjamin J. Romano
Microsoft has created a new corporate vice president position overseeing its education products. L. Michael Golden, most recently a senior vice president at education services company Pearson School, is filling the role, a spokeswoman said in an email.
Golden will report to Anoop Gupta, who in April took over Microsoft's Unlimited Potential Group, while retaining his strategic planning and education responsibilities.
According to the spokeswoman, Golden will be "responsible for leading Microsoft’s education vision and strategy execution, driving product development, business development, and go-to-market efforts."
Prior to Pearson School, Golden was a deputy secretary in the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
