Morning news roundup

Posted by Benjamin J. Romano

LOS ANGELES -- I'll be covering the E3 press conferences of Nintendo and Sony - Microsoft's competitors in the game console business - beginning this morning at 9 and 11:30 a.m., respectively. Meanwhile, here's today's story summarizing Microsoft's games and entertainment announcements from Monday. You can see all of my posts from E3 here.

In other, non-gaming news:

Andrew Ross Sorkin of The New York Times shares the view from inside Yahoo CEO Jerry Yang's head. And more Microsoft-Yahoo analysis from Silicon Alley Insider and All Things Digital.

Meanwhile, in Washington, D.C., Microsoft General Counsel Brad Smith is among those testifying before a Senate committee investigating the search-advertising deal between Google and Yahoo. This story lays out Google's argument: The deal will not increase Google's search traffic share.
