Mailbag: Nine Inch Nails?

Warning. Don't ever tease Lauren Jackson about one of her favorite groups being at KeyArena and her not being told. Jackson, the biggest fan of rock group Nine Inch Nails, almost busted out of her skin when intimated that members of the band may have been at the Key on Saturday and she didn't know. They weren't but it was fun to ask if she spotted lead singer Trent Reznor.
"WHAT?!" she said. "I don't really think they would ever attend, but if they did you have to run out on the court and tell me. Seriously! Like normal people, I don't get that excited about, but I would go crazy if they were there. Or Marilyn Manson [sighs]."
Jackson, a 6-foot-5 Storm F, then demonstrated the type of run with flailing arms and other gestures.
Jackson said she's upset that she's missing the concert July 26. This week actually marks Jackson's last three games with the Storm before departing for Australia to join her national team in preparation for the Olympic Games. She leaves on July 17 and will not return until after the Games.
The good news is C Ashley Robinson, who missed the Storm's win Saturday against Minnesota, is back on the court. She sprained her right ankle and although she's feeling "achy," she said she's "fine."
Seattle is catching an afternoon flight for Sacramento, having just completed practice. They were off on Sunday and look ready to get their second road win of the season. But the Storm is 2-12 all-time at Arco Arena. Maybe C Yolanda Griffith making her first trip back to the city she led to the 2005 title will bring the Storm some luck.
At least you won't see Seattle taking any tacky pictures like Atlanta did after their first win against Chicago on Saturday. Did anyone see that on the WNBA.com main page? Goodness! That No. 1 some of the players, including former Seattle G Betty Lennox, are holding up can only mean "one" win. The Dream is 1-17 overall -- the worst start in league history.
