More on Storm's TV deal

Not that anyone in Seattle wants to see a repeat of the stinker the Storm (5-3) had in Detroit (6-1) televised on Fox Sports Northwest again, but the station and the team are continuing negotiations for more broadcasts this summer.
FSN will carry Saturday's game against Detroit at KeyArena with Cara Capuano back as the play-by-play announcer and moonlighting color analyst Lavonda Wager, the Oregon State coach. Jen Mueller will handle the sideline reporting. But the Storm reports that negotiations are continuing for future dates with the flagship station.
The WNBA used to stipulate that teams carry a minimum of six games on TV. That rule has since been dropped and only the New York Liberty has all of its games on TV through the Madison Square Garden station.
In addition to national broadcasts, the Storm always had a minimum of three games televised locally. In 2006, there were three and in 2007 the team carried five. Only those deals were part of the Sonics' contract with FSN. Now that the Storm is an independent entity, operated by Force 10 Hoops, they have to finance and negotiate their own deals.
As for the Storm itself, they traveled home today and did not practice. (Yes, some would argue they should.) They'll be back on the court Friday to prepare for a rematch against the Shock.

Let's hope that one of the TV games is for July 12 when Seattle hosts L.A. with Lisa Leslie and Candace Parker. This way, we'll hear those favorite words currently being said in Boston...."BEAT L.A.!"
