Storm F Kelly Santos has arrived in Spain to play for Brazil in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament for Women. Santos is happy to be with her countrywomen, although she's groggy from the travel, according to a source close to her. Former Storm F Iziane Castro Marques, who was traded to Atlanta, is also with the team and pictured here with Santos (right) and C Graziane de Jesus Coelho (left). De Jesus Coelho and Santos were called up to replace injured C Erika de Souza.
Brazil is currently in Pinto, Spain and will play a pre-tournament game against China on Thursday. The actual tourney, where the final five slots for the Beijing Games will be decided, begins June 9. Santos, a two-time Olympian, like's her country's chances to advance, but said everyone still needs to learn how to play together.
The tournament ends June 15 and Santos expects to be back with the Storm on June 16, when Seattle hosts Connecticut at KeyArena.
