Successful surgery
Posted by Jayda Evans
Storm All-Star Sue Bird had successful surgery to remove loose particles in her left knee this morning. Dr. Michael Joyce performed the procedure at the University of Connecticut Health Center, where Bird had her previous surgeries her freshman season in college and in 2003 as a pro.
Bird's timetable for a return remains two weeks. She'll return to Seattle on July 10 and miss the Storm's current three-game road trip, a home game against Connecticut, the July 15 All-Star game and possibly the Storm's July 17 game in Phoenix.
Seattle is 2-2 all-time without Bird in the lineup.
