When a slew of free agents went through the Storm training camp doors in May, coach Anne Donovan notified them they were in a pool of potential signees should the team suffer an injury or need a replacement.
Guard Yolanda Paige, a traditional point guard, could be receiving a callback.
The most glaring problem with the Storm rotation is the use of Tanisha Wright as a backup PG. Donovan might want to bring in a true PG to run the second unit and take some of the pressure off All-Star Sue Bird, who has yet to be consistent and has swelling in her left knee. Wright could then be used as a backup shooting guard, which would be a better fit given her ball-handling skills.
Wright also is solid protection for any injury Betty Lennox may suffer. Lennox continues to mentally block out the tendinitis in her right Achilles, averaging 14.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists the past five games.
