Ljungberg, Evans and Scott not making Colo. trip

Posted by Jose Romero

That's the word from coach Sigi Schmid today. Practice just ended about half an hour ago at Starfire and the team leaves for Denver later.

I asked Schmid about the diagnosis on Freddie Ljungberg's migraines.
"It was a more severe migraine attack than maybe the last one he had, so he's still getting a little bit of a dull headache in the afternoon," Schmid said. "So until he's headache free we don't want to push him, and today he felt a little bit better. He did a little more today, so we expect by Tuesday he should be all right."

Next question: Does somebody new (perhaps Peter Vagenas) get to play this week?
Schmid: "Yeah, probably someone new, because obviously with Evans not there as well [at center mid], Scott, it changes things around for us."

So...no Scott is offset by the return of Riley and likely Sturgis at outside defenders. Alonso will have a new CM with him.
