(On what went wrong on Saturday against Chivas USA)
"I think for us obviously you got to look at the last two games and say what are the issues or what are problems. I mean I don't think in either of the last two games it's been a situation where the other team has rolled over us, or dominated us, or created chance after chance after chance, and we were lucky to get out of there with the result that we got. But I do think it is a situation that we've had periods of each of those games where we have been able to put pressure on the opponent and haven't been able to come up with the goals that we need. Obviously in the final third I think our cohesion has to be better. Our final pass has to be better. And our commitment to score has to be stronger."
(On personnel changes) "You've got to see. We'll see how this week goes in training. We wanted to see some guys in the reserve game today. Players make decisions for you and that'll make our decisions."
(On if any players impressed today in reserve game against University of Washington) "Some guys did positively and negatively. Some guys did from both ways."
(On Steve Zakuani playing 45 minutes on Saturday) "He went 45. He went 45 today. We didn't want to overtax him. We obviously made him the number one draft choice for a reason because we think he has ability. So I think he'll play a role on the game on Saturday, whether it's coming off the bench or not is something that we'll determine this week."
(On adjustments tactically with Brad Evans on the wing) "I thought our spacing and positioning was OK on Saturday. Brad tucked in a little bit more, which is what we wanted from the week before. So if you compare the 90 against Chivas to the 30 that we played 11 against 11 against Kansas City, I thought our defensive shape was much better and I think our shape overall was much better. And again I thought we created a lot of things going forward that were right on the edge of the final third that didn't come off or result in anything. It's more of an emphasis of that then I think the shaping in midfield."
(On Kasey Keller returning) "Obviously Kasey's a quality goalkeeper. Anytime you put a quality player back on the field it's going to make your team better."
(On creating more cohesion) "It's really two things. One is we need to work on it. We need to design training sessions that will address those issues. But the other thing is that part of it comes with time. Part of it comes with time. (Freddie) Ljungberg and (Fredy) Montero have played together now a total of maybe 180 minutes. Once they got like 700 minutes together, I think they'll understand each other a lot better. So an awful lot of that depends on guys getting to know each other better... So there were certain things that we talked about today in the film session of when a player has the ball in this situation this is what he does well, and now this is how you need to react to that. So I think over time that will get better, but we also need to create training sessions that will showcase that."
