Levesque signing imminent; Vanney to do broadcast color

Posted by Jose Romero

If it hasn't happened already - as in the Sounders FC forward putting his name on a contract -- it could be announced as soon as Monday. Roger Levesque appears to have earned a place on the final roster after some two months in training with Sounders FC.

Thanks to Aaron Levine at Q13 for the heads up.

With the addition of Levesque and Zach Scott, as reported earlier today, Sounders FC now has 23 players under contract. That leaves it one short of the 24-man MLS roster limit.

Also, sources close to the team say Greg Vanney, a former U.S. National team defender and longtime MLS veteran who played for Sigi Schmid in Los Angeles, will join Kevin Calabro as color analyst on team radio and TV simulcasts. Vanney, 34, apparently worked with Calabro Thursday night at the team's exhibition game/dress rehearsal in the broadcast booth at Qwest Field.

More details to come at a later date, I would imagine,.
