Kickin' it with...Chris Eylander
Posted by Jose Romero
Note: This will become a daily feature during camp, at least for all the days I'm able to attend. It's just a quick Q&A with a different player each day.
Chris Eylander
Pos: GK
Age: 24
Hometown: Auburn, Wash.
Ht. 6-1 Wt. 185
Last club: USL Sounders
Q: Your thoughts on just being out here for practice?
CE: "Didn't really get in until the end. The keepers, we did our own thing, so probably the last 15-20 minutes of practice we played a game. So that was my first experience playing with these guys and it was good. The level of play was good. It was exciting to be out there and play."
Q: Can you already see the difference between USL and MLS?
CE: "Yeah. Yeah you can."
Q: How so?
CE: "The ball's not given up as much in tighter positions. Individual skill's a little bit better. Quality's a little bit better."
Q: What do you think about the whole group and the mixture of expansion draft guys and rookies and guys you played with? Do you think it's a good formula?
CE: "Yeah, I do. I think we have a good group of guys here. I think the coaches know what they're trying to do. So it's hard to say anything about the first day. The first day I'm just really getting a feel for the players. But I really trust the group we have and trust the coaches and I'm excited to play my part on this team."
