If you watched today's draft, you might have heard the commentators sound off on the Seattle sports scene and how dire the situation was this past year. Listen to what former U.S. national team player, MLS GM and player Alexei Lalas had to say (he's the second voice heard) about the prospect of Freddie Ljungberg playing well after his hip surgery in this audio file gleaned from KJR-AM (thanks to Kevin Shockey from the station, one of the producers extraordinaire):
For the record, Sounders FC technical director Chris Henderson said he heard Lalas' comments and is confident Ljungberg can return healthy and be a major contributor this season, though the response included rationale that Ljungberg has been in big games and is a players the rest of the team can feed off of. Henderson also said Ljungberg's rehabilitation is going well.
