Kevin Calabro, who will be Sounders FC's television play-by-play announcer when the team opens play, will host his own Monday-Friday radio program on 710 KIRO radio, the station announced today. The show will start when 710 KIRO becomes an ESPN radio affiliate this spring.
The former voice of the Sonics, one of the most recognizable voices from this area, has landed on his feet since electing not to move with the Sonics to Oklahoma City. He's called college basketball games on FSN and for the NBA on TNT, and was last year hired by Sounders FC.
"I'm enthused to get back involved with radio," Calabro said this afternoon on KIRO.
