Durant returns
Posted by Jayda Evans
Sonics rookie Kevin Durant , the team's leading scorer (19.7) should be in the starting lineup on Thursday against Phoenix. He completed half of practice without the tape and glove protecting his sprained left index finger and the other with, but said his finger feels fine to play.
After practice Durant was seen dunking and taking hard passes while working on his offensive game. He missed his first game of the season on Monday due to the injury because it was too painful to catch balls with the injury and play with the restrictive glove.
Teammate Chris Wilcox, the Sonics' second leading scorer (13.6), did not practice but the move was more to give his sprained left knee an extended period to heal. Coach P.J. Carlesimo said Wilcox was "possible" to play against the Suns. If Wilcox is unable to play, forward Nick Collison, who had 15 points and 11 rebounds in his teammate's absence on Monday, will continue to start.
