San Antonio thread
Posted by Percy Allen
SPURS UP 66-63 --- It looked as if San Antonio was going to blowout Seattle, but the Sonics put together a little run and pulled to within one point (64-63) before Ginobili's shot.
PETRO'S GOT MANU'S NUMBER --- Ginobili would be wise to stay away from Petro who has two blocks against the dervish Spurs guard. Ginobili is able to drible his way around Durant, but he's running into Petro who emphatically sends his shots flying in the other direction.
SZCZERBIAK TO RETURN --- Wally World is having his right ankled re-taped and should be back shortly. Meanwhile, the Supe are hanging tough. They're down 42-39. This looks like it's going to be scrappy game in which the defense will have to keep Seattle in it.
FIRST QUARTER --- Sonics trail 26-25. Big quarter from Durant who scored 11 points on 4-for-7 shooting. Also a big quarter from Ginobili who has 12 on 5-for-6 shooting.
SCALPER'S DEMISE --- I heard from a very reliable source (Steve Kelley) that scalpers before the game were asking for $10 for a ticket to tonight's game. Judging from the sea of red seats, they didn't get a lot of takers. The Sonics have drawn surprisingly well during their 14-game losing streak, however, the threat of a snow storm may have kept many fans at home.
PARKER OUT --- Tony Parker has a bone spur in his left ankle and will not play tonight. He's on the inactive list. It's the fifth game Paker has missed because of the sprained left ankle.
