West gets results
Posted by Jayda Evans
The test probably seemed a little pointless seeing how the pain is telling enough, but Delonte West's MRI results showed he does indeed have plantar fasciitis in his right foot. He had the examination on Thursday in Memphis and most likely will not play tonight against the Grizzlies. The foot injury is the latest in a host of injuries the combo guard has faced this season.
West declared himself healthy and ready to play out the final 60 games when he returned from the same injury earlier this month. But he has only played in 11 games since Dec. 1, averaging 4.8 points on 28.9 percent shooting from the field in his past five while also averaging just 3.4 assists.
West will be a restricted free agent at season's end and said the Sonics' evaluations in a contract year for him have messed with his mental focus. Now he may have to sit out an extended period to properly heal his foot, which makes where he fits in the Sonics' plans even more uncertain.
