Mack Strong undergoes neck surgery

Posted by Danny O'Neil at 4:13 PM

The team announced Monday former fullback Mack Strong had undergone neck surgery.

Strong was diagnosed with a herniated disc in October after the Seahawks played in Pittsburgh. The hope then was the injury would not require surgery.

Strong experienced pain last week and underwent tests on Friday, which found the injured discs herniated further. He underwent surgery on Sunday, which removed a herniated disc and fused his third and fourth cervical vertebrae.

The team's announcement said, "He is resting comfortably and a full recovery is expected." Strong is expected to be discharged from the hospital on Tuesday.
