The St. Louis Rams helped the Seahawks in a big way earlier today when they rallied to defeat the San Francisco 49ers, 20-17.

The Rams and 49ers are 5-6, currently 1.5 games behind the Seahawks in the NFC West. A Seattle win Monday night against the Green Bay Packers would make the Seahawks 7-4, good for a two-game lead over St. Louis and San Francisco.

Seattle has the head-to-head tiebreaker advantage over the Rams if the division ended in a tie, but it doesn't hold that edge over San Francisco. Still, the Seahawks have better division and conference records than both with two division games and four conference games left to play.

The Seahawks are going to be facing a depleted Packers team that has 11 players on injured reserve. And starting MLB Nick Barnett, one of the Packers' top defensive players, is out this week and will be replaced by rookie Abdul Hodge. Hodge is a third-round pick from Iowa making his first career start Monday.
