Aaron Curry: "To find out that I was going to be a Seattle Seahawk was one of the best things that I have ever heard."

Posted by Danny O'Neil

Linebacker Aaron Curry completed a conference call with the reporters here at Seattle's headquarters. He was behind the green room in a quiet room and his excitement came flooding out.

"My first talk with coach Mora was today," Curry said. "When they decided they were going to draft me. He seemed like he has a high motor."

Was he surprised Seattle picked him?

"I was a little surprised, being that I didn't make a visit out there," Curry said. "But I knew they were interested because I worked out with them. I wasn't too surprised because they had just let go Mr. Peterson."

  • "When I first entered Wake Forest, I wanted to be a judge," Curry said. "My aspiration was to be a judge."

  • How much did he weigh when he got to college? "I was about 200 pounds soaking wet after breakfast and lunch," he said. Now Curry weighs more than 250 pounds.

  • Curry said the first thing he would do was buy his mother a house. Will his mom be moving to Seattle? "When I first started this process, she looked at me and said, if you end up in Seattle, there better be a room for me in your house. If there is not a room in your house, there better be an apartment that is within walking distance. Growing up, I've always been a Mama's Boy, and she wants to be able to put here hands on me whenever she can."
