Seahawks add tight end John Owens
Posted by Danny O'Neil
Tight end John Owens has signed with the Seattle Seahawks. That news was first reported by ESPN.com, and has been independently confirmed.
Owens is from Notre Dame and most recently played with the Detroit Lions. He is a blocking specialist, the role that Will Heller filled the past few years in Seattle. Heller is an unrestricted free agent.
Also, safety Jermaine Phillips, who visited Seattle on Wednesday, has re-signed with Tampa Bay.
