Report: Shaun Alexander to be released
Posted by Danny O'Neil
Washington has released running back Shaun Alexander, according to a report on ESPN.com.
Alexander played in four games for Washington. He carried twice in the previous three games, and while he was active for his return to Seattle on Sunday, he did not play.
Here's the link to the story right here.
Alexander was the No. 3 running back on Washington's depth chart, but fourth-string back Rock Cartwright was a key special-teams player and returned kickoffs. Washington needs to address depth on its defensive line after Andre Carter left Sunday's game with a foot injury.
