Hasselbeck practices, but only a little bit and it was with the scout team

Q: When do you know your season has reached the point that hopes of making the playoffs are erased by the more immediate goal of at least being marginally competitive?
Answer: When the biggest news the day a team leaves for the East Coast is that the starting quarterback threw a few passes for the scout team in seven-on-seven drills. He won't travel with the team, and he definitely won't play, but at least he's closer, right?
That's what coach Mike Holmgren said.
"Knock on wood, I suspect he will practice next week and then have a chance to play next week," Holmgren said.
Hasselbeck could be back for next week's home game against Arizona.
In other injury news, RG Floyd Womack was back at practice and will start, and WR Deion Branch will travel with the team to Miami and has a chance to play. He was limited in practice. He missed the past four games with a heel injury, but tested his foot on Wednesday. He was not sore on Thursday and then was back to practice.
"We still have to monitor him," Holmgren said. "What can't happen is we put someone down and activate Deion, and then after 10 plays he says he can't go."
Hmmm. Wonder if Seattle's Big Kahuna is worried about No. 83's staying power.
