LB Will Herring returns to practice
Posted by Danny O'Neil
Will Herring can practice with the Seahawks beginning this week. He was on the Physically Unable to Perform list. He does not count against the active roster right now. He can practice for the next three weeks without being signed to the 53-man roster. After that, the team must decide between signing him to the 53-man roster or placing him on injured reserve.
Herring is recovering from offseason microfracture surgery in his knee. His recovery was complicated because of swelling he experienced when the Seahawks began training camp. The problem with his swelling has been solved.
Michael Bumpus was present on the practice field after being re-signed to the practice squad.
Deion Branch did not practice for the Seahawks on Wednesday, neither did safety Deon Grant, who is recovering from a sprained knee he suffered Sunday, and Koren Robinson did not practice, as coach MIke Holmgren indicated. TE Will Heller has a large knee brace and did not practice. He suffered a sprained knee ligament as the Seahawks attempted to recover an onsides kick in the fourth quarter Sunday.
