Walter who?
Posted by Danny O'Neil
Each week, everey NFL team must make one of its players available for a conference call with the media contingent from the opposing city. This week's selection was defensive end Aaron Schobel, who'll spend a good deal of time this weekend lined up against a certain Pro Bowl tackle from Seattle.
But as Schobel was describing Jason Peters -- the Bills holdout tackle -- he looked to Seattle for a comparison. Except he experienced a mental block when it came to the name.
"Not Willie, but ... umm ... What's his name? The one y'all got in Seattle?"
-- Aaron Schobel, Bills DE
Now, that's not to say Schobel didn't know him. The Bills played the Seahawks back in 2004, and Schobel said he faced Baltimore's Jonathan Ogden that same season and played Willie Roaf the year before, and he considered Jones the best tackle he faced that entire season.
And before Schobel concluded the conference call, he doubled back to that certain someone he'll be playing against Sunday.
"But don't go telling Walter I didn't even know his name ... That's why I don't like doing these things ... I've met him and I know his name. I just couldn't think of it."
-- Aaron Schobel, Bills DE
