Shaun Alexander, football pick-em league commissioner.

Posted by Danny O'Neil

It's not a dream job.

It's not fantasy, either.

But former Seahawk Shaun Alexander, the 2005 NFL MVP, is the commissioner of a football pick-em league for contractors, remodelers and home-improvement enthusiasts sponsored by HGTVPro.com.

It's called the Builders Football League and Alexander was announced as the rookie commissioner in a press release sent out Monday.

I'm excited to join the home pros at HGTVPro in their popular Builders Football League," Alexander said, according to the press release. "This Web site is a great resource for professional and armchair builders alike, and the BFL is a fun way for both to build team spirit and heat up competitive juices."

Alexander released by the Seahawks in April. He visited Cincinnati and New Orleans after his release, but has not signed with an NFL team yet. He has not retired, and many believe that he is waiting for the right opportunity for playing time to crop up, something that could happen after injuries begin to mount around the league.

The Builders Football League is an online pick-em contest, which asks for predictions of the winners in the Sunday night and Monday night games each week. The winner each week gets a $100 gift certificate to Circuit City. The season-ending winner getting a 50-inch high-definition television.
