Julius Jones will start at halfback in the team's second exhibition game, which will be Saturday against Chicago. Maurice Morris started Friday's game in Minnesota and gained 62 yards on his six carries. Julius Jones' opportunities were more limited, he carried only four times.
Coach Mike Holmgren has said he will be using Morris and Jones as a tandem, considering them co-starters so to speak.
"We're going to play both of them," Holmgren said.

If they are both unselfish enough to make splitting carries work, this could work out great for the offense. Running back by committe is a fantastic idea if you have unselfish backs that aren't concerned with starts. If they're both getting paid what difference does it make right?

Based on how Mo Mo handled the SA situation, it's clear that Mo Mo is capable of dealing with this as well, but Jones is an unknown quantity. Sure, the coaches have grilled him with questions and must think it will work, but the public will just have to wait and see.
Also, Jones doesn't know the offense as well as Mo does, that will make a difference in certain situations.

I feel great about Maurice Morris. I loved him last year when he came in for Alexander. He shows that he can be a great running back for us. So now we'll see what Mr. Jones got to offer. I think b/w him and Morris we should be just fine. Plus we got Weaver in there too. I think soon enough we'll say "Alexander who????"
