Hawks close to signing long snapper
Posted by Jose Romero
The deal, which will likely be for four years, could get done as soon as today. Schmitt is the rookie long snapper from San Diego State the Seahawks drafted in the sixth round this year. He's the only player at his position currently on the roster, and it would appear that the all-important snapping job is his to lose.
On another subject, the Seahawks rookies visited the Pro Football Hall of Fame today in Canton, Ohio. There was footage of the visit on the NFL Network. The PFHoF is a very cool place, maybe the best sports museum I have ever been to. Of course I haven't been to Cooperstown, but the exhibits and especially the bronze busts of the enshrined players are quite a sight.

gonzo... I think there were a total of to Long Snappers drafted. You'd think that considering every college team has a long snapper we'd stand a reasonable chance to get it right. After all... it's not like Bavasi is running the show (D'oh! did I just go there?!?! ;-)
He's the only guy in camp. He's either really darn good or we're really in trouble (Scouting says he's darn good).
