Practice report from Wednesday
Posted by Jose Romero
First let me note how cold it was standing out there on the far end of the practice field.
Today was Celebrity Wednesday. We had former Rainier Beach and current New York Knicks star Jamal Crawford at team headquarters to appear live on KJR radio, promoting a fundraiser event that takes place this Saturday. Some Seahawks and other local NBA players are expected. Details at Crawford's Web site, www.jamalcrawford.org.
Also at practice was Sonics head coach P.J. Carlesimo and his assistant coaches.
Coach Mike Holmgren didn't do much shouting but he was there to oversee practice for the first time since last week. He's scheduled to talk to the media tomorrow at the conclusion of the final practice of the June camp.
LB Lance Laury was back with the team after missing the past two days to attend to a personal matter. S C.J. Wallace watched practice, his first appearance with the team since an emergency appendectomy before the start of the mini-camp.
WR Courtney Taylor did not participate in practice because of an undisclosed injury.
Highlights of the day: DT Rocky Bernard blowing up a block to disrupt a Maurice Morris run...DE Lawrence Jackson fighting off T Sean Locklear's block to force RB Justin Forsett to the outside on a run...FB David Kirtman keeping his eyes on the ball to make a catch on a pass in the flat despite Jackson's outstretched arms...CB Marcus Trufant knocking down Matt Hasselbeck's pass for WR Ben Obomanu.

Does anyone see the Hawks going after LaCharles Bentley now that Cleveland has granted him a release from his contract? Not sure, but I think this team needs help at center and Bentley used to be one of the best in the league...

Anyone else concerned about the lack of receiving depth, minus Bobby Engram?
Surely there's got to be some vets floating around somewhere. I think Joe Horn would be ideal.
