Back to Kirkland's grass
Posted by Jose Romero
The Seahawks were back in Kirkland today for practice. Nothing new on the injury front -- the same guys who have been out or are choosing not to attend were still out Wednesday.
Come to find out that rookie DT Kevin Brown is not with the team because UCLA hasn't held graduation ceremonies yet, so per NFL rules he cannot set foot inside team headquarters until then.
Observations from today:
-WR Jordan Kent had a good May camp, and he had a good practice Wednesday. He got the better of cornerbacks Jordan Babineaux and Kelly Jennings for catches on deep routes.
-RB Julius Jones has shown signs of being the real deal. He put a move on a very fast linebacker, starter Julian Peterson, and got himself wide open with plenty of separation during a drill in which linebackers were covering tight ends, running backs and fullbacks on short passes.
-Special teams coach Bruce DeHaven broke out the microphone/speaker contraption, urging on his charges on kick coverage drills. At one point, coach Mike Holmgren turned around to look at reporters on the sideline and said "I want to get one of those things so you can hear everything I say at practice." He was being sarcastic, of course.

Jordan, is that you? What are you doing on this blog?
Seriously though I think Jordan could be the guy that separates himself from the rest of the pack. No one is even close to his size or speed. If he works hard on running routes and learns the playbook he could be a secret weapon.
Also, I wanted to say that at first I was hesitant about Julius Jones, but the more I thought about it the more it just seems like he should fit in perfectly for our offense. We can actually run the "real" west coast offense now like the Niners back in the 80's.

lol I am definitely not Jordan Kent. He was extremely impressive though. He was running by the defensive backs with ease and his running style just looks very fluid. If he keeps it up he could be a huge weapon. He also was working with the special teams returning kicks.

I know that we probably don't need him or maybe can't even afford him in regards to the cap but please Ruskell surprise us and trade a 2nd round pick for Jason Taylor. The idea of him with JP, Lofa, Hill, Kerney our db's and Tapp along with Mebane and Bryant the idea of that just gets me to salivate. He wants to play one more year and he wants to play for a winner and this is Holmgrens last year (which sucks I love the guy) lets go get him and make a major push in a winnable NFC. You can never have too many good DE's just ask the Giants.

Jason Tayor's stated that he only wants to play for one more year. Why would anyone trade a 2nd round pick for one year of service? Maybe a 5th or lower.

Good Observations glad to hear Kent is making some progress as a deep threat he could be huge for us if he gets the mental side of the game down.
PS i like the new format looks cleaner and the Words lined in the center makes it easy on the eyes.

Jordan Kent looked great today! Hopefully he can continue to improve and he can really produce this season. It looks like he has bulked up a little bit too.
