Seahawks sign former Husky Larry Tripplett, two others
Posted by Danny O'Neil
Seattle announced it signed Larry Tripplett, a second-round pick out of Washington in 2002. Tripplett was initially chosen by the Indianapolis Colts and signed with Buffalo in 2006.
Here's a link to Tripplett's player profile on NFL.com.
The Seahawks also signed LB Wesly Mallard and claimed CB Dalton Bell off waivers from Carolina. Here's a link to Mallard's player profile on NFL.com. President Tim Ruskell said after the draft, indicating the Seahawks' decision not to select a linebacker in the draft would be followed by a heavier emphasis on that position among the undrafted free agents the team signed.

I really like this signing. I've been irritated that other DT's have been coming and going off the wire with no activity from the hawks. That has all changed now. Tripplett can thrive in the fast paced DEF of the hawks.
Great signing!

Wow, Tim Ruskell signing another Tampa Bay Buc holdover (Wesly Mallard).
I heard that he's looking into signing Mike Alstott to backup Weaver... or Hardy Nickerson for the Linbacker corps... or Steve DeBerg to push Hassleback... is LeeRoy Selmon still alive?
go hawks!

on another note
wow the raiders had a lot of running backs

Rhodes isn't needed - J. Jones, Ducket, Mo, Weaver and Schmidtt will be a nice compliment of RBs. Good home run threat in JJ and good short-yardage in Duckett and Schmidtt. Rhodes has never played in a WCO - and he'd be expensive. He has no value to the Seahawks.

Rhodes also got into some off-the-field trouble also, I believe, so don't think that' an option.

Tripplett's a great addition!
He was fun to watch at Washington and who can forget him running 60 yards for a touchdown over Tennessee? I like his quickness and he's supposed to be a real nice guy, that never hurts

Love the Tripplett signing. It does make me wonder though if Tubbs is on his way out. It seems like the team has been quiet about Tubbs' status and a guy his size can only have so many knee problems before he has to hang 'em up. With or without Tubbs though, Tripplett is going to be a great addition to the line.
