Seahawks release Tim Lindsey
Posted by Jose Romero
Here's what the official team press release said:
"The Seattle Seahawks released long snapper Tim Lindsey, the club announced Tuesday afternoon.
Lindsey attended West Virginia and signed with Seattle on January 15, 2008."
That's quite a vote of confidence in sixth-round draft pick Tyler Schmitt from San Diego State, who was chosen by Seattle on Sunday. Schmitt, according to the Seahawks depth chart on their Web site, is the only true long snapper left on the roster.
This was a problem area for the team last season, as you might recall.

Why did the brief talk about trading for Shockey quickly subside?
I realize the head case issue...but was it anything REALLY that bad?
The toughness of this guy, along with the everything-you'd-ever-want-from-a-tight-end makes me think that this could've been a great opportunity for a strong *uperbowl run in Holmgren's final year.
Afterall, it is Mike's final year...why not load up your ready-to-play-now roster.
Heck, just build an extension on the clubhouse for Shockey and C. Johnson...put up some noice reducing insullation and tell them to stay on their side of the clubhouse and wait for the Championship.
