Mike Karney speaks in Kent on Wednesday, March 26

Mike Karney, a fullback with the New Orleans Saints, is scheduled to speak at the Springwood Recreation Hall in Kent at 7 p.m. on Wednesday as part of the Lighthouse program. Karney, a graduate of Kentwood High School who went on to play at Arizona State, will talk about the importance of goal-setting and staying in school.
The Lighthouse program is managed by Kent Youth and Family Services and a Kent police officer is involved, serving as a mentor to children in the program.
