D.J. Hackett in Tampa today
Posted by Danny O'Neil
Wide receiver D.J. Hackett is making a free-agent visit in Tampa, Fla., with Carolina next on his itinerary. Here's the link to the story published in Friday's Tampa Tribune.
Update, 9:17 a.m.: ESPN.com is reporting Bryant Johnson, a free agent from Arizona, has agreed to a one-year contract with the 49ers. That further thins the crop of remaining free agents at Hackett's position.

Well at least he made it out of washington i dont see him staying in tampa but carolina is deffinitly gonna be tempting for him. His durability is a question mark but if he can stay healthy he will be one of the top recievers out there.

man, I don't know about you guys, but I think Hackett is one of our best receivers (when healthy) good size and great hands....I'd much rather have him than Branch-who turned out to be a complete bust

I like Hackett, too, but he misses a lot of games.
Hackett + healthy = not often
It will all come down to the money. Maybe if we could pay him per practice & per game!

Can we sign Hackett and go over the cap and then cut Shaun to get under it again?

Now that he was released from the 49ers, which D. J. are we now talking about? Darrell Jackson or D. J. Hackett?

I say we give DJack another shot on the cheap. If healthy, we know what kind of numbers to expect from him.
