The Washington Times reports that Washington has made a pass at landing Seahawks receiver D.J. Hackett. Now the question is whether he grabs onto that offer. Here's a link to the story right here.
Hackett's free-agent itinerary also includes stops in Carolina and Tampa Bay. Seattle also remains a consideration for Hackett.
As for the Panthers' interest, here's a link to the story published Thursday in the Charlotte Observer.

I would hate to see Hackett go, but I don't see any reason to keep him around if he's just going to take a roster spot and continue to watch from the sidelines. I don't think he's durable enough for an entire NFL season. We have Courtney Taylor and Ben Obamanu(sp?)chomping at the bit to play, the sooner they get some more game experience, the better.
Any word on the Trufant talks?

We should make Hackett our number one receiver to keep him around. He did great things in 2005 and 2006 with limited touches, and he has great size. I think he'll be healthy next year. It would be shame to have to see him excelling alongside Steve Smith in Carolina.

Ruskell NEEDS to match their offer, or at the very least, give him all we can afford. Hack may have had some injury issues last year but when he was hot, holy cow, was he hot. We need to do whatever we can to keep him around, because he's easily a #1 WR when healthy.

We would probably be able to afford him if we didn't give 5.5 mil to Julius Jones.
