Branch may practice this week
Posted by Danny O'Neil
The prognosis for wide receiver Deion Branch is better this week, coach Mike Holmgren said. He said the training staff is more optimistic about his availability. Branch missed the past two games because of a strained calf.
"He couldn't play the game the way he has to play the game," Holmgren said. "He's not the biggest guy in the world, Deion. His quickness and speed must be a part of his game, and no one could tell me he could last, for sure."
Branch is the starting flanker. He and D.J. Hackett have been on the field together for less than three games total this season. If Branch returns, the Seahawks would have the top four receivers they expected when they started the season available for four-receiver sets.
"When we put that out there, we have the ability to be pretty potent in the passing game," Holmgren said.
Holmgren said that while some players sustained injuries that will require treatment or rest this week, he didn't say anyone has been ruled out for Saturday's game in Green Bay.
"We're about as good as we can be that way," Holmgren said.

No he's just had some injuries that's all. We didn't get screwed by getting him.It was and still is a good deal.
I bet he plays.Branch, Nate, Hack, Bobby, and Obo and Courtney Taylor in reserve.Damn the possibilities are awesome...BUT Charles Woodson and Harris are great too. Both NFC starting corners are on the field Saturday.
Hey by the way...Josh's longest EVER field goal was at...? Green Bay...whoo hooo 58 yards.

58 yards, that's a kick, 26 degrees for the game they say, the ball will feel like a rock.
I'm not worried about the recivers, Matts throwing is what is buging me, he was putting to many at their shoe laces last game.

I think Hasselbeck's throwing against Washington was due to him being a little too "up" for the game. Once he settled down he was fine. He even said he missed too many open receivers. He'll need to be much more accurate this weekend. Green Bay's secondary is in a different league than the Skins' we faced last game. Our defense will be the key. If they play the way we have seen them of late, we'll be back in the NFC Championship. If not, well is was a fun year. Should be a heck of a game Saturday.

Begaining to think the Hawks got screwed with Branch, he's always hurt or soon to be, got good hands but no help on the bench. Maybe that should be his new football name....bench Branch, kind of like the old joke name for a boxer, canves back!
