Sellers not buying it
Posted by Danny O'Neil
Mike Sellers is from Washington. He attended North Thurston High School, went to Walla Walla Community College for a year and then headed up to the CFL.
I talked to him for a little bit on Wednesday, and I'll try to catch up with him again Thursday. I didn't hear this exchange, but he's quoted in the Washington Times as saying he thinks Seattle's 12th man is on some banned supplements.
"That place has to be miked up because the last time we played there, it was ridiculous — we couldn't hear ourselves talk. For a stadium that small, it can't be that loud."
-- Mike Sellers
Here's a link to the whole story.

I don't see how you can discredit the noise in Qwest. I was at the game in Philadelphia last month and that place was nothing compared to Qwest. These guys are trying to downplay the noise factor and say that Lincoln Financial is just as bad to worse? Give me a break. Your ears ring when you leave Qwest!!! #12 Twelve better be ready for Saturday! 33-7 Hawks!

33? Have the Seahawks scored that many points all year???? They have yet to play a real defense, you should wait and see bold one.

Wow! There is a lot of trash talking coming from a team with Todd Collins as there QB. Todd Collins? Seriously? I know he just got the player of the month, but come on. You guys have had a nice little winning streak on the heels of the death of your best player, but this is where your fairy tale ends. You just can't match up with us. You don't have the secondary to hang with our recievers. Somebody will be open and Hasselbeck will find him. And Todd Collins can't hang. He has never even played in a playoff game let alone here in Seattle. You are messing with the big dogs now and you better watch your mouth.

1. nobody knows who is gonna win
2. at Quest it is loud.HOWEVER less than half of the crowd is actually making ANY noise at all. If everyone yelled it'd be MUCH MUCH louder. The minority does "the work" there for everyone else.
3. Todd Collins has not been at Quest in a playoff atmosphere before.
4. We are healthier than the Skins (presently)
5. Matt usually plays well at home.Walter rested last week. Many starters played only a half or less.
6. Our home record at Quest is excellent over the last four years
7. We'll have all our receivers playing.
All of this indicates a 'Hawks victory.

It's funny to me when fans of other teams try to discredit the 12th Man and the crowd noise at Qwest. Guess leading the league in false starts by visiting teams over the past few years has nothing to do with the crowd noise and more to do with a lack of discipline and poor coaching by those outsiders? The Skanks errrr 'Skins will find out soon enough

I was at the Eagles/Seahawks game at Lincoln Field in Philly and it does not even come close to the noise level at Qwest. The Skins will be sure to get an earful on Saturday and I for one will be sure to be extra loud.

The league already conducted an investigation into allegations that Qwest field was "mic'd up". I was actually at that game, a September tilt against the Giants (the team whose 11 false start penalties the year before directly lead to the investigation). The noise was insane. And the league found no indication of wrongdoing, end of story. That being said, the Redskins HAVE to exude confidence going into this game because once they hit the field, they know they are going to be blown away by the noise. Win or lose, Qwest will be jumpin' on Saturday.

I understand that Wash has a good run defense, and our running game is mediocre at best. Well, if they hold us to -5 yards rushing, that should limit our total to, say, 400 total. I am not impressed with their secondary.
I wouldn't predict 33-7, but 21-10 will do nicely.

Well, ForeSkins for Life, come to Qwest Field on Saturday and I will introduce you to some Seahawk fans. And yes, compared to you we are big dogs, as in we've been to the playoffs for 5 straight years and a super bowl just 2 years ago. We have a team full of veterans who know how to win. You have a QB who had to wait 10 years between starts and a bunch of clowns who we didn't want anymore.

Oh no, CP is coming! He tried that at Qwest in 2005 and rushed for 41 yards on 17 carries...Look out.

-------------------------------------
Not a smart comment. The Seahawks were 3-1 against teams that were ranked in the top 10 in defense. They lost to the #1-ranked defense of Pittsburgh. They scored 20 points on Tampa Bay, which ended the season with the second-ranked defense in the NFL. They beat Baltimore, which had the sixth-ranked defense in the NFL.
Washington has the seventh-ranked defense overall.
Anymore inane statements, y'all?

You have gone to the playoffs for five straight years in an inferior division. You guys clinched 3 weeks before the season ended because your division was so pathetic. Our division is sending three teams to the playoffs and the odd man out went .500. I like our chances, we are battle tested. You guys beat two playoff teams all year....
That said, I think you guys have a solid team, especially at home. Should be a good game.
Best of luck in your search for your first Lombardi trophy...we have 3 and a couple more NFL championships too. But they are a bit dusty, we need a new shiny one to add to the collection.

The 'Skins have played 7 playoff teams and lost 5 of those games, and one of their wins was against Dallas' backups in the second half. They are battle tested in the way that the Miami Dolphins are battle tested.

We could have easily been 6 of 7 in those games...
And you know it.
Hail Skins...
Minus the Pats game, we lost 4 games vs. playoff teams by a combined 21 points. And Campbell was the QB then....

So you skins fans dont want Campbell as your qb of the future? Collins is on a hot streak but there is a reason he hadn't started a game in 10 years, and i think you will see why on saturday. And no, I dont know that you should have won those games, cuz we pay about as much attention to you in DC as you pay to us here in Seattle so in my mind they are just losses.

Campbell is the future but Collins runs the 700-page offense better at this point in time. In fact, Saunders brought him to DC to run his offense and wanted him to start over Brunell back in '05. Brunell faded down the stretch in '05 and blew the '06 season to a point beyond repair, so it didn't make sense to bring in Collins then, we played Campbell to see what we had because the season was a lost cause. It was his show this year but since you guys pay no attention to us I will tell you that Campbell runs a scaled down version of the offense, with Collins, he runs it all. THe play calling has been sick the last four weeks. Night and day from earlier in the season. It is timing offense and Collins has been running it for 7 years...he has it dialed in....

You keep telling yourself that, but its hard to call the plays when your own center wont be able to hear Collins....

It doesn't matter what our schedule was. We don't need to be tested. We are a veteran team who knows how to win. We have been in the playoffs for 5 years in a row. We have been in battles and came out on top and in the playoffs experience is everything and we have more of that than any team in the NFC. That link just shows that the DC writers are just as dumb as their fans.

I love it when people try to rationalize where there team should be. "Take away FOUR of the Seahawk wins, take away Redskin losses and it is obvious that the Redskins are better." That is the stupidest thing anyone has ever written. So it is okay to throw out a blowout loss but games that the Hawks actually won should also be thrown out? How about the games the Skins barely won against the Jets and the Dolphins in OT? Take those away and the 'Skins would be nothing more than a team that ALMOST made the playoffs.

Both teams have been enigmatic at times, and there's no question the Redskins play in a tougher division. But even including the absolute shellacking the 'skins took at the hands of the 16-0 Pats, the non divisional records of the teams they faced aren't that different. Redskins opponents totaled 80-80, and Hawks opponents went 74-86. In fact, if you throw out the result against the best non divisional team by record each faced, their remaining opponents combined scores stand even at 64-80.
Both teams will come to play, but the 12th man will give the Hawks that little extra edge to put them over the top.

I read the article. The Skins are sounding pretty confident in themselves. I guess we are just going to have to be extra loud for them. They think they have heard loud before, huh? They haven't heard nothing yet. Oh man! I can't wait for Saturday!
