Ben Gibbard, movie star
Posted by Patrick MacDonald
Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie hardly looks like a matinee idol but, according to Rolling Stone, the rock star is poised to become a movie star. He will play the lead in an adaptation of David Foster Wallace's book "Brief Interviews with Hideous Men," to be directed by John Krasinski.
In other Death Cab news, the band is among a variety of artists on a new compilation CD, "Endless Highway: The Music of The Band." Gibbard and company cover the obscure "Rockin' Chair," which perfectly suits Death Cab's arty style.
