Final: Issaquah 31, Bothell 28
Posted by Tom Wyrwich
Every time Bothell made a mistake tonight, Issaquah made the Cougars pay. From Bothell's early turnovers and penalties to the short kickoff in the final two minutes, Issaquah took advantage every time.
The last time turned out to be a killer.
The Cougars had tied the game -- especially behind Patrick's Ottorbech 253 yards -- at 28 with 1:44 left, but the kickoff went to only the 40. Issaquah moved down to the 19, and Gavin Schumaker made a 36-yard FG with 1 second left that gave Issaquah a 31-28 win.
Impressive comeback by Bothell, which didn't punt in the entire game. But it did turn the ball over twice, and gave it up on downs once, and Issaquah QB Joey Bradley, RB Grant Gellatly and WR Brennan Miller each made impressive plays down the stretch.
Issaquah plays Central Kitsap, a 21-6 winner against Rogers of Puyallup.
