Week eight football rankings

Some thoughts:
-If there was some way to rank Skyline any higher, it would be higher. Think about this: the Spartans just beat Eastlake and Issaquah, two of the state's better programs, by a combined score of 80-0. So who lies ahead on the schedule? They see 1-6 Redmond this weekend, and then next weekend they face Bothell, which you'll notice snuck into 10th. The Cougars beat Woodinville and Inglemoor by a combined score of 48-7, and with five straight wins, Bothell got the 10 spot. But there at least five other teams that we could have picked there and felt completely comfortable with it.
-Issaquah probably shouldn't beat itself up too much over its 38-0 loss to Skyline. The Spartans have made everyone feel that way this season. But the Eagles made several mistakes on their own; they had not looked so discombulated all season. My guess is they get that shored up. They're still a top 10 team.
-Same goes for Central Valley, which made Ferris work for a win on Friday night. But the Bears likely need to win out to ensure they get one of the Greater Spokane League's two playoff spots.
-This week's game of the week: Bellevue vs. Liberty. The Wolverines can clinch the KingCo 2A/3A's top seed with a win.
