Girls state soccer rankings -- week 4
Posted by Joshua Mayers
It was a pretty ho-hum week in the 4A ranks. There were no changes in the top six as every team won each of its games. While some wins were more impressive than others -- e.g. Eastlake's solid 3-1 win over Skyline -- I couldn't justify any change.
Woodinville's loss drops them to the bubble, moving Lake Stevens and Kentwood up a notch. Jackson of Mill Creek makes a debut in the top 10 and Issaquah climbs back in despite having two losses. The Eagles 4-0 win over Woodinville is a great result.
Another league with teams beating itself up is the Columbia Basin Big Nine. Teams like Pasco, Richland, Southridge and West Valley of Yakima all face tough competition every week. But at this point it's hard to determine who's the best of the group.
Onto the 3As, where Camas and Lakeside keep the top two spots after taking care of business. Everett drops from No. 3 to No. 6 after a loss to Snohomish. It might've been farther, but lots of 3A teams had a tough week.
Kennedy and Lindbergh of the Seamount league jump to No. 3 and No. 4 respectively. These rankings are probably a bit inflated but they play each other Tuesday, so that should help with the balance of power.
Union jumps up a bit and teams like Meadowdale, Bonney Lake and Mount Vernon enter the rankings, filling the void of Shorecrest, West Valley (Yakima) and Mount Spokane.
Anyways, here they are. Take a look and tell me what you think. The more feedback the better.
