In 3A -- Kelso is a big, hard-hitting team whose players seem to average 6ft/210 pounds. Those boys can really smack that ball with power. They should have no problem with Olympic who got lucky against Mt Rainier. Folks in Centralia should expect to see a dandy of a game between Blanchet and Auburn. In Bellevue, Franklin Pierce and Captial should be more worthy to watch than Issaquah walking all over Hazen. As for the field of Dreams in Mt Vernon, Mt Rainier and Seattle Prep would be an interesting match up. Whoever prevails in that one should have no problem with the winner West Seattle/Liberty vs Meadowdale. The WS/Liberty game is scheduled for Tuesday 5/13 at 7PM. Both of those teams have played the spoilers in the tourney thus far -- West Seattle over Eastside (still crying over that one) and Liberty over Skyline. Sorry to say, I haven't a clue about the games in yakima, though Ferndale was ranked #3 in state poll. Anyone in Eastern Washington care to let us know about those games?

Sporty you said you had no clue about the Yakima games. You may be missing a few clues on the other games as well. if you think the Seattle Prep Mt Rainier winner will have no problem with the West/Seattle Liberty vs Meadowdale winner then you are not paying attention to whats going on. This is all about pitching and who's hot. Seattle Prep...come on?. No one beat EC they just choked under pressure. Liberty while they are certainly the most classless team in State. They sound like a softball team with their chirping (No disrespect to softball, Softball cheers for their own team, Liberty is just plain obnoxious with the way the players and fans yell at the other teams). Saw a quote from one of the Issaquah players talkin about Liberty.. He said Liberty is very "scappy and ...loud!" He ment just plain rude and obnoxious. Liberty coach teach your players how to play with respect! Liberty however does have good hitting at the top of the order and two good pitchers. Their coach squeezed in two runs to beat Bellevue in extra innings so he can coach. I just wish he would shut his players up, very bush league baseball. With all that said they are a pretty good team and program who won State in 2006. I'm not a big fan of them but they beat Bellevue's ace Bielaski..Sklylines Ace Sampson and then came back and scored 18 runs against skyline again in Kingco playoffs. If they win tonight (IF...I dont know who would have any pitching left after last weekend) they will be tough in State.
Everyone has an ace so Pitching depth is key!

Just a Fan you obviously seem to doubt the strength of Seattle Prep. If you have been playing attention, they not only beat Eastside Catholic (who did not choke, but were just outplayed) but they also beat #5 Blanchet in the Metro Championship, who has good pitching and a strong hitting lineup. Also, they are producing up and down the lineup. Their 6-9 hitters have had a combined 10 RBIs in the past two games. Also, Prep has been winning without star pitcher and WSU signee Anthony Drobnick, who has elbow problems. They are getting hot just now, when it matters most, so I would check your sources if I were you, Just a Fan.

Hey "Just a Fan" some would call the "chirping" of teams like Liberty as great spirit coming from a bunch of young men.
I enjoy their spirit they provide as well as the support that their student body provides - more schools could use their students actually showing up to baseball games.
Go Liberty! May they be playing a Mt. Vernon this weekend

Mt. Rainier beat a good Bonney Lake team to get in and hammered Highline with 20 hits and 20 runs. I like their defense and pitching variety they can throw at you.

Sorry LHS but what the players are allowed to do at Liberty from their dugout is not team spirit, it's obnoxious chirping! Spirit is rooting for your own team but you can't hear them rooting for their team because of the screaming and yelling at the other team. We all know the difference don't excuse bad behavior and mask it with team spirit. Just show class, you deserve to be rooted for not rooted against.
I wasnt dogging Seattle prep, they are a good team I was defending the other teams who are playing pretty well. Yes EC did choke or felt the pressure. 3 errors vs Seattle Prep. Then up four runs vs W.Seattle only to give up 8 runs in the fifth on just a couple of hits. then miss home plate on a HR in the 7th that would have pulled them w/in one with one out, instead you have two outs down by two runs! Look Ec was a good team should have made it to State had no business losing to W.Seattle up 4-0 in the 5th. Seattle Prep out played them last week and deserved that win. Metro has a few good teams but the lack of competitive baseball every week in the league hurts teams like S.P, Blanchet and E.C in tournaments and State. they are just not used to playing in tight tough pitching duels every game. I hope I'm wrong I really like Seattle Prep, they are obviously good of their 6 losses 4 came from blanchet and E.C plus a one run loss to a Tampa team. I was just stating the facts about the Kingco division and why they have always done so well in State. It's that they play a tough game every day and face a tough pitcher three times a week. Winning 6-8 State titles with three different teams has proven they are the league to beat!

If you go to Heidelberg on Saturday, watch Olympia pitcher Adam Conley. He is a no hitter waiting to happen.
If you go to Everett Memorial, keep an eye on both Caleb Brown and Drew Vettleson of Central Kitsap. If you saw them last week at the district playoffs in Kent, then you know they can hit home runs farther than 275 feet over the right field fence.
