Cindy McCain replaces Palin at Seattle-area fundraiser

Posted by Emily Heffter

John McCain's presidential campaign is sending Cindy McCain to headline a Seattle-area fundraiser this month. The Republican nominee's wife replaces vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, who originally was scheduled to attend the Sept. 24 event.

Palin encountered a "scheduling conflict" and is unable to attend, according to a spokesman for the campaign.

The $1,000-a-plate fundraiser will be held at a private home in Hunt's Point. Palin, the McCain campaign said, will probably be in Michigan at the time.
