Teens plead guilty in death of Tuba Man

Posted by Letters editor

Harsher punishment needed

I find it very disheartening that an individual's life has so little value that the murderers would receive only 36 to 72 weeks in juvenile detention ["Tuba Man case: 3 guilty," page one, April 4]. They were 15 and should have been tried as adults.

A street musician's violent and senseless death should serve as a sign of the emptiness of society and the inability of our courts to help.

-- Barbara Rierson, San Antonio, Tex.
