Morse to AAA, Lugo gone

Some good news for the Mariners today in that Mike Morse cleared waivers and was outrighted to Class AAA Tacoma. We talked about this on Geoff Baker Live! this morning, but there was always going to be a chance of Morse slipping through waivers this time of year. Plenty of teams have their own Mike Morse bubble candidates they are shedding before the season and were not automatically going to interested in Seattle's version.

If this was a year ago, things might be different. But Morse's spring numbers were not as dazzling this time around. So, the M's get to keep him.

They won't be keeping Rule 5 draft pick Jose Lugo though, since the m's had to send the reliever back to his original Twins team when a deal could not be worked out.
