The Geoff Baker Show
Posted by Geoff Baker
UPDATE: 2:37 p.m.: Eric O'Flaherty was just claimed off waivers by the Atlanta Braves. Quite the dramatic fall for O'Flaherty within the organization the past eight months. He opened last season as the team's situational lefty, then didn't make it past the second week of the season in the majors. He was claimed when the Mariners took him off their 40-man roster to make room for incoming names. Pitchers Stephen Kahn, Gabby Hernandez and Marwin Vega and outfielder Greg Halman have been added. O'Flaherty is out, while pitchers Luis Munoz and Tracy Thorpe have been outrighted to the minors.
Sorry it took so long, but here's our second broadcast of the Geoff Baker Show. A half-hour, commercial-free broadcast pertaining to the Mariners and your phone-in questions. Many thanks to all those who called in. Even those whose questions were not heard over the air. Keep trying. We'll be back at this during the baseball winter meetings as well. Just click the blue box below to get started. Or, just click on this link and you'll be able to fast-forward and rewind through it. Makes it easier to listen to some of it, then come back later on to hear the rest. Hope you enjoy.
By the way, as we mentioned a while back, Dave Cameron, a founder of the U.S.S. Mariner site, is up for a $10,000 blogging scholarship. Well, the competition has turned into a cross-country blog feud and Cameron has fallen behind by several thousand votes. If any of you like his stuff and want to help him out, here's the link. Voting ends at midnight. Now, on with the show ...
