Game thread, Mariners vs. Twins, Aug. 25

UPDATE: 7:05 P.M. Balentienforcer, you're right. I had two shortstops listed. But unlike last time I messed up the lineup, I have a (semi) legitimate excuse. The official lineup sheet that was handed out in the press box had two shortstops, and I was copying that one. Yes, I should have noticed, but it slipped past me. Cairo is at first base, BTW. I have an unexplainably hard time typing up lineups, if you hadn't noticed.
It is still August, right? It feels like April in Detroit, and like an idiot, I didn't even bring a jacket. You'd think after 12 years here I'd learn my lesson.
I shouldn't complain, though. I'm here on the magical night that Miguel Batisa returns to the rotation. Something to tell the grandkids about. Batista hasn't started since Aug. 4, against the Twins. It was a gem. He threw 82 pitches, which got him all the way through three innings, during which he gave up six runs.
BTW, Eddie Guardado is in the house. He showed up at about 5:30. Just in time to prepare some shaving cream pies in case he's needed tonight.
Erik Bedard threw 50 pitches at 90 feet today, off flat ground. It went well, and he'll do it again tomorrow. No word on when he'll throw off a mound, let alone off a mound in an actual game. I'd say the chances of that are getting slimmer by the day.
