Pretty much sums up the whole experience of blogging a season like this one. I'm sure most of you will agree, whichever side of the coin you happen to fall on in any particular day. Enjoy the game. Larry should be chiming in soon.

That's totally Derek at his home. He's desperately trying to prove Geoff is wrong and that not ridding of us of Washburn's contract means the end of the world as we know it. LMAO!
Cue in Derek's apologists soon to follow....

Geoff,
After reading your last 2 posts and the comments, a quote I read recently came to mind:
"Never argue with an idiot, they'll just drag you down to their level and beat you with experience." ; )
I enjoy your perspective, keep it up.

Didn't the game start a few minutes ago? And we get a cartoon with an editorial intent?

Resin-
funny, then, that Baker stole that from a USSM blog comment.

Geoff -
Not to drop some research on you, but...
One thing I've noticed is that even in games in which the M's get a bunch of hits, and even when they put up numbers early, they still don't knock pitchers out of games. In fact, guys often recover after a couple of bad innings and still end up getting though 6 or 7 innings.
The question is this - is there somewhere to look up how many pitches a team has collectively seen and thrown in a season?
I'd guess that right now the M's have throw around 1500 - 2000 more pitches than they have seen. Because the lineup is full of epically impatient hitters like Yuni, J-Lo, and even Ichiro.
Anyway else who knows where to find this info, feel free to chime in...

Resin--Your hatred of USSM has grown comical. Really. You don't like them? That's your right. But please spare us.
I also wonder if maybe, in this stinker of a season, maybe Geoff and Derek have perhaps contrived a little "controversy" to keep things interesting.

Geoff,
I know you're a good guy & will continue to read your blog. Your analysis was poor on Washburn IMHO. Have to agree with Dave & DMZ. I appreciate the hard work you put in & this season has to be far worse than any Blue Jays season you covered so my hat's off to you. Still, your grasp of modern analysis has shown to be a little behind the times. No shame in that. Loving the game & understanding the reasoning behind varying theories that have been tested are not necessarily apples from the same tree. How you see Washburn as a comparable value to Felix is still way beyond me but you have to call em as you see em. Happy non-Felix, non-Washburn day.
