Mariners pitcher Miguel Batista will serve as the honorary chairperson for the Third Annual Latino Beisbol Award Festival presented by Latino Future Magazine at the Phoenix Art Museum tomorrow night. The event celebrates Latino heritage in major league baseball.
Guests of honor include Hall-of-Famer Orlando Cepeda; Vera Clemente, widow of Hall of Famer Roberto Clemente; Colorado Rockies P Ubaldo Jimenez; Texas Rangers P Vicente Padilla; Chicago Cubs IF Alex Cintron; and Linda Alvarado, co-owner of the Rockies. Other players are expected to attend.
Chicago White Sox legend Orestes "Minnie" Minoso will received the Latino Legends Award.
