The view from Sacramento

Posted by Bob Condotta at 11:40 AM

While Sacramento Kings' fans wanted a big man, a lot of them also wanted a lot more than just Spencer Hawes, if the thoughts compiled here are any indication.

The author calls it "a questionable move'' and that it doesn't exactly excite the fan base to draft a player who has been called "the next Todd Fuller.''

As I pointed out in my story today, the hard part for Hawes comes now --- proving he was worth the No. 10 pick in the draft.

Making it even dicier for Hawes is that he's obviously somewhat of a project who may not provide the immediate bang-for-the-buck of a lot of other players, which could prove frustrating for a fan base hoping the Kings can begin to turn things around.

Here's more reaction from Sacramento from the Sacramento Bee, though all of these stories require registration.
